Lifting Analyses Using OrcaFlex and MOSES
We use OrcaFlex for dynamic lifting analyses of subsea installation, retrieval, and splash zone crossing operations. Our analyses cover snap load risk, heave-induced motion amplification, sling tension envelopes, and clearance from adjacent structures.
We can demonstrate how active or passive heave compensation extends the operational weather window, often by a factor of 2 or more in Hs compared to uncompensated lifting.
If you lack accurate Response Amplitude Operators (RAOs) for your vessel, we can estimate them using MOSES from basic vessel geometry, loading condition, and tank arrangement. The estimated RAOs feed directly into lifting analyses, mooring studies, and compensator sizing calculations. We can also calculate vessel stability and help optimise ballasting for lifting operations.
Concise Reports, Actionable Output
Each study delivers an engineering report with clear conclusions, numerical results traceable to the input data, and recommendations that are actionable for project execution. We do not pad reports with filler — the goal is to give your team enough to make the next decision, not to justify a large invoice.
Typical study turnaround is 2–6 weeks depending on scope and the availability of input data. Contact us with your project brief and we will propose a scope and fee. Most of our studies save more in revised equipment specification or reduced weather-standby than they cost.
