Founder

You may already know our founder's work.

Norwegian Dynamics is a young company; the thinking behind ANTARES, RIGEL, CYGNUS, VEGA, POLARIS and SIRIUS is not. Our founder, Tord Martinsen, has spent his career in motion compensation — first at Cranemaster, then as the original founder of Safelink. He is the inventor of adaptive passive heave compensation, inline active heave compensation and the lightweight shock absorber, and is named on multiple patents in the field. That design experience is the engineering behind the Norwegian Dynamics range — each unit sized from first principles and screened in CONSTELLATION. Recent work includes a 150 t / 4.5 m adaptive compensator for an international offshore EPC contractor and a 3 t / 1.25 m unit delivered in the UK in six weeks.
