Scope of supply

What we build

Eight product categories cover most of what offshore and subsea hydraulics ask for. If your case does not fit a category, that is usually where we do our best work.

01

Push / pull cylinders

Single-rod, double-rod and tandem configurations, sized to the duty.

02

Telescopic cylinders

Multi-stage builds for long-stroke applications in tight envelopes.

03

Rams & lifting cylinders

High-force units up to 200 t weight for heavy lifting and jacking.

04

Intensifiers

Pressure intensification for high-pressure test and work functions.

05

Accumulators

Piston and bladder accumulators, including subsea gas accumulators.

06

Valves & valve blocks

Custom and standard valves, manifolds and proportional-valve blocks.

07

Hydraulic power units

Electric, diesel or subsea electro-hydraulic drive, built and tested.

08

Subsea-rated equipment

Depth- and temperature-compensated designs for long deployments.

From brief to hardware

How a custom order runs

STEP 01

Define

A functional brief is enough — loads, stroke, envelope, environment. Duplicating an existing unit? Drawings, a scan, or main dimensions all work.

STEP 02

Design

Concept through production drawings, with creative solutions that bring cost down and reliability up. Classification plan agreed here if class is required.

STEP 03

Build & test

Manufacturing and factory acceptance testing to strict offshore and marine standards for materials, safety factors and workmanship — class witness on request.

STEP 04

Deliver & support

Documentation, spares and field support. Typical lead times: 4–10 weeks for cylinders, 8–16 weeks for complete systems including HPU, classification and testing.

Coatings & materials

Rod and surface treatments matched to the service life and environment.

Sensing & control

Position and pressure feedback integrated in the build, not bolted on.

Internal stroke sensorsExternal stroke sensors0–10 V4–20 mABus pressure sensors

Subsea engineering

Depth and temperature compensation, and wide experience in best practices for designing and testing subsea hydraulic equipment.

Safety, testing & sustainability

Equipment conforms with strict offshore and marine standards; we gladly join FMECA sessions. Designs minimise fluid volumes, use robust seal configurations, and run on biodegradable fluids where operations demand it.

Why buy custom hydraulics from a compensator maker

Built by offshore compensator engineers

We design and class our own heave compensators to DNV-ST-0378 — gas-over-oil cylinders that live below the hook in open sea. The same engineers, the same materials discipline and the same test regime stand behind every custom cylinder, accumulator and HPU we deliver. Norwegian engineering, lean manufacturing at our own facility — that combination is why the price surprises people in the right direction.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a duplicate of my existing solution?
Yes. We can duplicate a unit from an overall description and main dimensional information, from measurements or a scan of the existing solution, or from old drawings.
What is your lead time?
From 4 to 20 weeks depending on complexity. Typical: 4–10 weeks for standard cylinders, 8–16 weeks for complete hydraulic systems including power units, classification and factory testing.
Can you deliver classed equipment?
Yes — classification support is available on request, and we routinely work with DNV, BV, ABS and CCS. The classification plan is agreed at the design stage.
Do you integrate hydraulics with heave compensators or third-party equipment?
Yes. For projects with hydraulic integration needs — our own heave compensators, lifting tools, or third-party equipment — we handle the full design-to-delivery path in-house.
Can you build stainless or duplex hydraulic cylinders for marine use?
Yes — stainless and duplex (EN 1.4462) construction is a normal request for splash-zone and permanently wet marine service, with HVOF or laser-clad sliding surfaces for seal life. We also offer coated carbon-steel alternatives when the duty allows it.
Do you make subsea hydraulic cylinders and accumulators?
Yes. We design depth- and temperature-compensated subsea equipment and have delivered ABS-approved stainless gas accumulators rated for 3,000 m water depth at 700 bar.
Can you supply the complete hydraulic system, not just the cylinder?
Yes — complete packages including hydraulic power units (electric, diesel or subsea electro-hydraulic drive), valve blocks, sensors and controls, factory-tested before delivery. Typical lead time for complete systems is 8–16 weeks.
