Offshore load control,
engineered in Norway
We design and build passive and adaptive heave compensators and crane shock absorbers — for lifts where the equipment has to work the first time.

We think motion compensation is more complicated and more expensive than it needs to be.
Product by product, we simplify the design to cut cost and raise reliability.
Every recommendation is backed by CONSTELLATION, our in-house lift-screening and operability simulator built on DNV-RP-N103 — a modelled operating window, not just a datasheet.
The engineers behind a decade of
motion-compensation invention
After more than a decade each building motion-compensation equipment across Cranemaster, NOV and Safelink, our founders started Norwegian Dynamics in 2024 with one goal: take what they had learned and make offshore lifting simpler, lighter and more reliable.

Tord Martinsen
Serial inventor of motion-compensation equipment — first the adaptive PHC, then inline AHC and the lightweight shock absorber. Named inventor on more than twenty patent publications in the field.

Peter Wang
Runs manufacturing and product design. Has built the full range of motion-compensation hardware — from shock absorbers and passive heave compensators through adaptive PHC to inline AHC.

- 01
Define
We start with your operation.
Sea states, payloads, vessel dynamics and system interfaces define clear technical and operational requirements.
- 02
Design
Requirements become a sized design.
Dynamic simulation, hydraulic modelling and system architecture — sized against your actual lift cases.
- 03
Develop
Simulation and digital twins de-risk the build.
We refine the hardware layout and control, then prototype and validate before committing to build.
- 04
Demonstrate
Every system is tested before it ships.
Factory-tested — and sea-tested where the operation calls for it — with every parameter measured on a full sensor package.
- 05
Deploy
We deliver, integrate and certify.
Complete systems, designed and classed to DNV-ST-0378, with testing to DNV-RP-N202 and lift-screening per DNV-RP-N103.
- 06
Support
Support continues past commissioning.
Lifecycle support — from system tuning and upgrades through maintenance and performance monitoring.
Quality is a test result, not a slogan
Every unit goes through factory acceptance testing — pressure, stroke and damping response measured with a full sensor package — before it ships, with sea trials where the operation calls for it.
The short answers
Where are you based?
Skien, Telemark, Norway — Strandgata 20, 3725 Skien.
What do you design and test to?
Equipment is designed and classed to DNV-ST-0378, tested to DNV-RP-N202, and lift-screened per DNV-RP-N103; the company is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
What do you make?
Passive and adaptive heave compensators (RIGEL, CYGNUS, ANTARES), the POLARIS crane shock absorber, and CONSTELLATION lift-screening software.
