Who is responsible for your data

Norwegian Dynamics AS is the data controller for personal data collected through nodynamics.com.

  • Norwegian Dynamics AS, Strandgata 20, 3725 Skien, Norway
  • Organisation number 833 303 392
  • post@nodynamics.com · +47 9664 7886

What we collect, and when

We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not profile visitors. Most of what we hold about you is something you typed into a form. The exception is people we write to first.

If we contacted you and you had never contacted us, your name, role and employer came from public sources: national company registers, your employer’s own website, published project announcements, and customer and reference lists published by others in our industry. Your work email address came from those same public sources, or from a paid business-contact service we subscribe to. Name, role, employer and work email is all of it. If you want to know which of those your own details came from, ask us and we will tell you.

When you send an enquiry or a lift case

  • Name, company, email address and (optionally) telephone number.
  • What you are interested in, and the free-text description of your enquiry or lift.
  • Any file you attach — drawings, specifications or lift data. Please do not attach material you are not free to share; if a file is commercially sensitive, contact us first and we will agree a route for it.
  • Which page you submitted from, and the page that referred you there.
  • Your IP address, browser user-agent and the submission time. We log these to prevent form abuse and to prove a submission reached us — a lead that silently fails is a lost enquiry, so submissions are recorded independently of the email notification.

If you tick the newsletter box

We record that you consented, and use your email address to send occasional company and product updates. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying to any message or writing to post@nodynamics.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we sent before.

Automatically, when you browse

Our host and our content-delivery network keep standard server and security logs (IP address, request, timestamp, user-agent). We use a cookieless page counter, and — only if you accept analytics cookies — Google Analytics, which tells us which pages are read and whether our engineering films bring people to the site. If you decline, it is never loaded. We do not use advertising pixels, remarketing or audience building. See our cookie notice.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

Purposes for processing personal data, with the GDPR legal basis for each.
PurposeLegal basis
Answering your enquiry, preparing a quotation or a lift screeningSteps taken at your request before entering a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)); where you write on behalf of a company, our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f))
Keeping a record of the enquiry in our own project and quotation systemLegitimate interest in managing customer relationships and being able to trace what was offered (Art. 6(1)(f))
Sending newslettersYour consent (Art. 6(1)(a))
Preventing spam and abuse, keeping the site available and secureLegitimate interest in protecting the service (Art. 6(1)(f))
Contacting people at companies in our industry about the equipment we makeOur legitimate interest in marketing our equipment to other businesses (Art. 6(1)(f))
Meeting accounting and other legal obligationsLegal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c))

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes.

Transfers outside the EU/EEA

Norwegian Dynamics is a Norwegian company. The project and quotation system we run the business
on is hosted on our own server in China, and a record of each enquiry sent through this website is
stored on it. China is not covered by a European Commission adequacy decision.

Separately, if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics processes
visitor statistics in the United States. That is the only personal data that leaves the EEA as a
result of simply reading the site, and declining the banner prevents it entirely.

We would rather tell you that plainly than leave it out. In practice this means: the system is our
own, not a third party’s; the data on it is your enquiry and our correspondence about it, nothing
more; and it is not sold, shared or used for anything except answering you and running the resulting
project.

If you would prefer your enquiry not to be held outside the EEA, say so in your message or write
to post@nodynamics.com, and we will keep it to European
systems and delete the copy. If you are evaluating us as a supplier and need this handled under
Standard Contractual Clauses or on EEA-only infrastructure, tell us and we will put that in place for
your data.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as it is useful for the purpose it was collected for:

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a quotation — 24 months from the last contact, then deleted.
  • Enquiries that lead to a quotation or an order — for the life of the commercial relationship, and afterwards for the period Norwegian accounting law requires us to retain the underlying documentation.
  • Uploaded files — kept with the enquiry they belong to, and in any case no longer than 24 months unless they form part of a live project.
  • Newsletter consent — until you withdraw it.
  • Server and security logs — 24 months.

If you would rather we did not contact you

If we email you about our equipment, you can object at any time and we will stop. One line back in reply, or to post@nodynamics.com, is enough. You do not need to give a reason and we will not ask for one. We delete what we hold about you and keep only the short note needed to make sure you are not contacted again.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to post@nodynamics.com and we will respond within one month.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top.
