Offshore load control, engineered in Norway

Norwegian Dynamics designs and builds heave compensators, crane shock absorbers and riser tensioners — engineered in Norway, for lifts where the equipment has to work the first time.

Our Quality Policy

Deliver the safest and highest quality products and services in our market through total employee commitment and continuous improvement.

Norwegian Dynamics is an ISO 9001 certified company.

Our Mission

We’re on a mission to improve the motion compensation market.

Product by product, we simplify and optimise our designs to cut cost and increase reliability.

What We Do

Our Process

01.

Define

We start by understanding your operation. Sea states, payloads, vessel dynamics, and system interfaces are all used to define clear technical and operational requirements.

02.

Design

Our engineers turn requirements into a design through dynamic simulation, hydraulic modeling and control system architecture — sized against your actual lift cases.

03.

Develop

Using detailed simulations, and iterative modeling, we develop control algorithms, hardware layouts, prototyping and digital twins to validate system performance before fabrication.

04.

Demonstrate

Each system is factory (and optionally sea-tested) to verify performance. We measure every system parameter using a comprehensive sensor package.

05.

Deploy

We deliver complete systems — assembled, tested and certified to offshore standards. Our service team handles the integration on your vessel or crane: mechanical interfaces, hydraulics and controls.

06.

Deliver Support

Our commitment doesn’t end at commissioning. We provide lifecycle support — from system tuning and upgrades to maintenance and performance monitoring.

Our Management

Tord Martinsen — Founder & CEO

Tord Martinsen, CEO, motion compensation expert

Started his career at Cranemaster in 2010, founded Safelink in 2012 and founded Norwegian Dynamics in 2024.

Serial inventor of motion compensation equipment — first with adaptive PHC, then inline AHC and the lightweight shock absorber. Named inventor on more than twenty patent publications in the field; the offshore shock absorber patent behind POLARIS (NO349575) is held by Norwegian Dynamics.

Peter Wang — COO

Peter Wang, COO, motion compensation expert

Started his career at NOV in 2011, joined Safelink in 2017 and Norwegian Dynamics in 2024.

Expert at lean manufacturing and motion compensation design. Has been involved with everything from simple shock absorbers, basic PHC, adaptive PHC, to inline AHC, tensioners and lightweight shock absorbers.

Quality

Quality at Norwegian Dynamics is a test result, not a slogan. Every unit goes through factory acceptance testing — pressure, stroke and damping response measured with a comprehensive sensor package — before it ships, with sea trials where the operation calls for it.

We are ISO 9001 certified, and the engineers who design the equipment are the same people who review every test and deviation — a short feedback loop is the quality system.
